Leisure

What do you enjoy doing most in your leisure time?

Two days back a prompt was asked what I did for fun! I am going to take a different view of this prompt and write about it.

My son had Rec Night yesterday. Halfway through it, his mood was not good and he decided to sit down and not play any games. He just watched his friends playing. He spent the evening leisurely. No said compulsion to play the game.

December first week, me and my husband were deciding what to do for Christmas. We all decided to go to New York City. Then came the argument what places we needed to visit and each had a long list. Then I told my husband I wanted a vacation were I could spend the time leisurely and not get up in the morning and run out with a schedule to see places. I wanted to drink the coffee that the hotel staff make in peace. Most hotels have 24 hour coffee and that is the best part. Make one and drink it in the lobby. We finally ended up in New Orleans for Christmas and we didn’t rush to see any places there. In fact the hotel not only had free coffee but hot chocolate and hot apple cider 24 hours.

The Pelican demanded to be fed at Pensacola Beach 😊

We are at a point in life we want to keep doing things in a leisurely manner. I do not want a deadline hanging over my head. So whatever I commit to I have decided is going to done leisurely. Yes, no more compulsions and all the activities I do are for fun!

Coming to my own Challenge of making dosa, it was Tomato dosa day with coriander chutney. A week gone and just 3 more days. Coriander chutney is a recipe given by my Mom. She calls it Jaya mami chutney. Jaya mami was her friend and neighbor for many years and I love the tangy tamarind taste in the chutney. The chutney recipe is mami’s and not my amma’s. Hence the name 😊.

Few weeks back, I wrote a prompt about different stages in life. Those were created for a healthy life. I am not what I was fifteen years back. One of the things I really want to let go is compulsive behaviors. When I decided to go on this challenge it was for fun and I had no one to report this to. When we skipped breakfast one day, we made the dosa for lunch. The next three days it will be an evening snack or dinner! Who knows! I will be doing my task leisurely and my boy is learning πŸ˜€! So whatever time I have , I try to spend leisurely πŸ˜„!

If Bloganuary and WordPress can confuse and play with words why not me? πŸ€”
