What snack would you eat right now?
Bloganuary Day 12
I have been sleeping on prompts and writing it the next morning! But I am only too confident about the snack I want to eat!
Don’t be fooled by the title. It is not a simple rice pudding. Moor Kali or moor koozh is a rice pudding made with rice flour and buttermilk! A generous amount of sesame oil is added and seasoned with chillies that have already been soaked in butter milk and dried in sun. The chillies called moor milagai is what adds taste to the pudding. Then the rice flour is added to the butter milk ( a watery yogurt) and gets cooked until the sesame oil gets spitted out. That is how generous the oil needs to be!
Salt, asafoetida add flavor along with curry leaves and the end pudding can and should be sliced like pieces of a cake! Traditional South Indian Filter Coffee is what goes great with dish and is usually a snack item!
Boy, such calorie loaded food for snack? Yes, people did a lot of chores those days that didn’t involve modern machines and it really satisfied not only your appetite but provided the energy to complete the laborious tasks.
But if you have a piece in this day and age, it is better you hit the gym for some good exercise or atleast go for a brisk walk.
None of my family likes this snack siting various reasons for each one of them. But this is my favorite one and it is almost breakfast time and my taste buds are craving this.
If you are curious to learn more about it check out this page! There are so many videos and food blogs that show how to make one and this one popped up as I searched.

As I finish writing the blog, I am in two minds, should I make this for breakfast or not! Why not indulge in this carb rich food? I still have half hour to go, so the thought process stays.
Thanks all for supporting me this January. See you all again tomorrow with another mind boggling prompt.
