- 1.an important assignment carried out for political, religious, or commercial purposes, typically involving travel. “a trade mission to Mexico”
- 2.the vocation or calling of a religious organization, especially a Christian one, to go out into the world and spread its faith.”the Christian mission”
- a strongly felt aim, ambition, or calling. “his main mission in life has been to cut unemployment.
I just copied what mission was from my google search.βI want to go on a vacation to Mexico, make a religious travel or maybe get a good employment that pays me six figure salary.βOther than that I do not qualify under any of the above category.
But let me tell you what my husband accomplished yesterday and at 11 pm at night it stuck “Mission accomplished”.
Our hot water tap in our bathroom broke couple of months ago.βThe past two months have been unusually warm and that we did not need it.βIt was just the sink that we used to brush our teeth.βWe managed just with cold water. Then one of our toilet flush broke, in fact as a family we adjusted to it.βThen, another bathroom toilet flush starting causing issues.βIt was at that point my husband on Saturday told me the “plumber would be here on Monday to fix the flush”.βIt did not even hit me at that point about this visitor to our house.βThen Monday afternoon I came home with my son after his program and my husband informed me, “the plumber was here and he will be here another time this week”.β”I changed the faucet and it was 300 dollars”.βOkay, it did not affect me at all. I was hungry and my boy had his first day of basketball at Special Olympics and that was what running in my brain at that point of time.β
Then before going to bed, I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth, my hands automatically used the cold water but the force was different and that is when it hit me I could use the hot water too.βI smiled to myself and I turned on the hot water tap and I said to myself “Mission accomplished”.βI think without blood or war, a fight or an argument the project was done or completed in our house.βIt was my husband’s job to call the plumber and get it done, but it took him some time.βMeanwhile, we as a family adjusted to the situation.βI did not argue in the meantime and left it like that and I think I should have some credit too for not complaining to him about it.βI remember a similar situation many years ago when we lost our mail room keys (in fact both of them) and we lived in a town home and could not enter the mail room or open the mail box.βWe were sick, then we had to travel, but we started the process and when we came back home one day, we saw the keys in front of our door step left by the management.
Anyhow my husband told me I am not writing much about him.βHe felt I was getting too much “Super Mom” comments and that he was thrown behind the scenes.βI told him a time would come and I would write something he has accomplished!βI did not think it would come this fast! Anyway my boy was good at his first day Special Olympics Basketball practice, touchwood and another feather on the cap for his Dad since I gave them the space and had a nice chat with a friend and did some walking while Dad and son managed the floor on their own.
Anyhow I took screenshot both in farientheat and centigrade to show how cold it is going to get next week. The hot water tap is a need and not a want! π
