What is the greatest gift someone could give you?
I saw this prompt around 7 pm last night when I was at my son’s game night. I always get a dry, allergic cough during winter months and it really affects my quality of life. My thought at that moment was, wouldn’t it be great if the gift was a miracle to get rid of my cough. Touchwood, this year it is not so bad.
I came home with my boy and after an hour my husband said, “I have a gift, guess what it is?”. At that point, I didn’t want to guess anything. He had been to Costco, the wholesale store for our groceries and my husband is not a sentimental person. He then went upstairs and came down with a turtleneck sweat shirt. “I hope this helps you with your cough”. Okay, my cough is not gone but a thoughtful gift to satisfy my need at the moment!
Okay, we all have our “needs and wants”. I told you about my need, but what about my wants 😀. I love if anyone gifts me a doll or a show piece. I have my yearly Navaratri exhibit, you can read all about it here, (https://specialmomsblog.mom/2023/10/16/navaratri-2023/) and I display with pride any kind of show piece item.
It can be a cheap doll or an expensive one, it doesn’t matter. I do this festival with passion and I really appreciate anyone who gets me a doll for me to add to my display! It really shows they understood my passion.
My younger one and my husband know this craze and when we travel, always say, see there is a souvenir shop. “Go search for dolls”. My special one is literally a bull in a china shop in these stores, yet I take my time searching for a perfect piece.
Anyhow I have to thank friends and family who given me these dolls as gifts and I usually make them smile when they come home the next year when I show them thir doll in my display! The happiness goes both ways🙂!
