What positive events have taken place in your life over the past year?

Today we went for another 5k race with my boy! We donated a new unwrapped toy for their Christmas toy drive!

So what was the positive thing we did this year? Of course making our son be part of Special Olympics Long Distance Walking program would be the high light of the year. Not only my boy but both myself and my husband who are middle aged have now got hooked into this great activity. Thanks to social media which keeps sending us advertisements for the upcoming races. We did our Turkey Trot 5k on Thanksgiving with temperatures hovering around 32 degrees and today it was a cold drizzle with 40 degree! We have races lined up for 2024 as well , unless a blizzard weather stops us we will walk in cold weather too!

I have to thank my son’s aide who takes him out on his walks too ! She has a system and I think today’s course was where she takes him! He was so comfortable with the course that he had his personal best of 18.30 per mile! Do not want to jinx things anymore and touchwood waiting eagerly for another 5K which is going to be only in 2024!
