Yesterday I shared my about me page with another blogger. I had made a point in that page saying my son’s autism made me a spiritual person!
It is not easy celebrating festivals or following a rigid religious schedule with a special need person in the home. Add to that he has his own rituals that need to be fitted inside our way of life! I love my religion and my culture and so many of the rituals that go along with it! But as I age and my son ages I am unable to follow them religiously! But learning so many scriptures has definitely helped me along the way and I have been able to come to peace with some of it!
I have stopped questioning God as to why my boy has this problem or trying to find an easy solution to his problems through short cut prayers. I know this is a long journey and I have God by my side and that He is going to guide me.
Few weeks back I visited Srividya Temple in Rochester, NY. This one hit me so close. Hinduism has many groups and the major ones being , the worship of Ganesha called Ganapatyam, Worship of Shiva, Shaivam, Vishnu, Vaishnavam, Muruga, Kaumaram and worship of Durga Mata, Shaaktam! This Temple is dedicated to Shakti or Durga Maata with Shaaktam principle. I exited the Temple and told my husband this my path and my happiness!

Durga is supposed to be the wife of Shiva, sister of Vishnu and Mother of Ganesha and Muruga! So maybe my attachment comes as a mother, sister and a wife or a role I am used to, that I do not know! I have been greatly blessed to learn so many of texts relating to Mother Goddess and my love towards Her is something that cannot be stopped because I can’t perform certain rituals!
So this blog is just a thought that has been going all day today! My brother did send me something last Saturday and made a comment that triggered this thought process and me sharing my about me page was just the icing on the cake!
Anyway I found a great link to day and thought I should share in my blog.

So I am going to finish this piece by saying I know my Mother Goddess is by my side and She is going to guide me all the time. 🙏
