This week’s Story Starter teaser is:

James had it all, but still, it was not enough.

He felt something was missing in his life until he finished his current project.

James had a great college education, which his parents had paid off, a great wife who worked and three wonderful kids. He raised his family in the suburbs of a big city that many people would be jealous. But he had felt a vacuum, as if this was not enough

Few weeks back his boss called him to undertake their company’s fundraising project for a hospital. Being the front runner of the project, James had to visit the hospital multiple times and in the process met with so many doctors, patients and nurses. He realized the realized the struggles of people who could not pay for a treatment, the hardship of the medical team who worked more than they can and people who had to die because of treatments not available for their problems. His project was to support the hospital with a simple fundraising gala, but he ended up learning more out of his own self interest and working for it. The gala was a success. funds were raised and everyone cheered him so much, since he did over and above, and it had nothing to do with his paid job.

He then realized, what the vacuum was and what was missing in his life. He had understood, his volunteering to fund raise was the one that made him a complete person. He decided to do that every year!

James now had it all and he was happy!
