Treasures

What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever found (and kept)?

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure! I do not go hunting for treasures. But I have books handed to me by Grandmothers!

My Maternal Grandmother wrote the entire Narayaneeyam in malayalam multiple times and I got one from her.. My Aunt taught me the entire Narayaneeyam in 100 raagas and I learnt so many raagas in the process. I think that is a huge blessing.

My Paternal Grandmother gifted me a small Bhagavad Gita Book and in it she wrote my name and a gift from her to me in Tamil! When I finished memorizing the Bhagavad Gita, I knew that was the blessing I received from her. She did in her later years all 18 chapters chanting everyday!

Both didn’t matter much when they came to me. It was only after a decade or two I understood the meaning of the same.🙏

I think those are the two treasures I value so much and hope to pass it on to my grandchildren.

Here a link to me singing Dasakam 78 with my Aunt from Narayaneeyam.🙏

  4. I love this. I “met” the Bhagavad Gita in the art museum in San Diego and one story woke me up and changed the direction of my understanding of life. I kept studying, often through paintings. These are truly beautiful gifts.
