What’s your favorite recipe?
Another day, and I am writing about food again. Anyway I am on a roll so why not.
I am not a cook and was never interested in cooking. So many things made me a home maker and I can now make a decent meal. But I have been forced to teach my special boy to cook and we have been doing that a lot.
Few weeks back I checked my facebook reels views and was surprised I was getting a lot of them, in fact so much more than my blog viewership. I post my boy’s cooking videos. I tag it with learning to cook with autism. At that point I was even tempted to start exclusively a channel and do videos. So I spent some time and learnt I am not good at taking videos 😊. Then comes the distraction of marketing the videos. Sharing with my family and friends is easy amd fun. But taking to the general public involves more.
I always wanted to do a digital cookbook for my boy and facebook reels are a good beginning.

Anyhow today I made my husband watch one of my son’s videos and noticed some improvements. Improvements with regard to his motor planning. Isn’t that what we worked with our Occupational therapist spending thousands and working hard at home with his exercises. We have turned some hard stones, is what the video proves. In fact my husband never watches any of his reels, but when I forced this task , he was a good critic. Okay, even my Mom gave me a negative comment and that is when I thought I am doing something good here. Reels edits a long video into shorts and I showed them the longer version.
I have decided to do a month of reels on his facebook page. I will be taking long videos and let facebook edit and publish reels. I will be making my Mom and husband comment on the longer ones. I have my white board ready with the dishes for the next ten days. Nothing is written on stone and the dishes can change but the goal is one dish a day. Will I blog about it. No, I do not want to do it. It will become overwhelming for me and I do not want my blog to be all about me and my boy learning to cook. I will be updating maybe once a week as how it is going.
So, if you want to know my favorite recipe just click on my boy’s facebook link and check out his reel. Follow him, if you like it and maybe for a month you can learn some simple recipes. If my boy who has autism can do, so can everyone.😊
Starting the week with a new challenge for me and my boy!
