Yesterday I wrote a blog and said one of the things that make me happy was spicy food. My husband has been on a soft diet and due to my laziness we all ate what my husband ate. Technically I would call it baby food, with not much oil and no spice.
So today was the day my boy had to cook. I decided I am going to get rid of my laziness and make extra items that were spicy.
My husband is now much better and is helping me more around the house. So I had more men power today 😊. My garden yield also motivated me to get myself into my normal kitchen routine and so the task began.

If you think those home grown jalapeño peppers were spicy, you are wrong. It smells like a pepper and nothing more. But I did add those and my homegrown tomatoes to make rasam (pepper tomato lentil soup 😊).

Maambhazha kootaan or moor kootaan, or mangoes cooked in yogurt and spicy coconut and red chillies gravy along with Indian eggplant cooked in tamarind spicy curry along with rice is a great combo for spicy food.

I am not good at taking food pictures but I was definitely satisfied with the above picture. Do you see the red chilly floating on top, I had grinded four of it along with coconut to make the sauce spicy. I would have added more, but I was worried since we had been on such a soft diet for more than a week, I would be giving my stomach overtime and did not want to take that risk.
When dinner time rolled around, my taste buds continued to crave for more spicy food. So we decided to make Rawa Dosa. My boy was helping me all evening and he made all our dosas. Dosas are nothing but pancakes, but this is a bit tricky since the batter is watery. This was his first attempt and I added green chillies , ginger, black pepper to the batter to satisfy my spice craving. My kids had with onions and my younger one who had gone out entering the house asked “What is that you have made? Smells so good”. Yes, they came out good and I even made a Facebook reel out of my dinner.

We all crave for food and making them at home is much more fun. But we do need help around to chop vegetables and clean the place around and not to mention buying groceries. Most of these jobs go under appreciated. I think that is the reason there are many fast food chains. When something is not appreciated it makes the job look hard and not fun.
Anyway I decided to make a theme out of the day and ended up making it more fun.
