Last weekend we made a quick visit to see our family in Toronto. You can read all about it here if you had missed it. Though we just visited family, my brother knowing me took me to a few saree shops. It has been years since I purchased a saree from a store this big. You would think I would have grabbed a few. No, I did not! I had more fun looking at the shop and the sarees than making any real purchases.

Back home, we began our routine activities but we had a day off in between with Independence Day being on a Tuesday. It was good having a day off in between the week to catch up on laundry and gardening.

We were in two minds if we needed to go for the fire works. In the end we decided to go and it was worth the time. My special boy is not scared of fire works nor is he sensitive to it. So I was glad we did it. Getting out of that parking lot is always hard. So we decided to wait a good half hour before we pulled the car out. Sitting on a park bench is much better than sitting inside a vehicle which is stuck in traffic.

Me and my special boy caught up on all our half done painting. It is not as if we both are Leonardo Da Vinci, but we do paint some stuff for my Navaratri Golu. If you are new to my blog you will be seeing me talk about Navaratri Golu more in the coming months. It is my doll show that I do during Hindu festival Navaratri. I have a lot to prepare in advance for the festival that happens in October.

We went bowling after a long time. I really had fun with my two boys. My special one was really happy about it and took turns playing with his brother. Okay I had to bribe him with French fries! They gave us free arcade tokens and we used that to just grab some hard candy. My special one does not obsess with these candies so we used all the free tokens for that only.

We are leaving tomorrow morning to Maryland. Our Guru has come from India and I am feeling enthusiastic about this trip to have his Darshan (meeting). My special boy has learnt to play beats and I am eagerly waiting for him to play during the bhajan (devotional music) session. Again, it all depends on my special boy’s mood, but I am keeping my fingers crossed.

My husband has put his foot down he is not going to travel anymore this summer and I have promised him no more 😃!
