A precious resource, Water Water Everywhere #180

We came back after our trip of the Great Lakes only to see an email saying our state is under a drought advisory and stated not to use water for our lawns. So this afternoon when I heard thunderstorms I felt so happy. The plants would be so happy.

When you see an ocean you hear the statement, water water everywhere and not a drop to drink. Unlike that lakes have fresh water and every drop is for us to drink. Here are pictures of all the five lakes.

Lake Erie picture taken in August of 2020. It was during pandemic and the crowd was not much. Just sat watched the waves.

Lake Michigan near Kalamazoo. Went for a three day vacation and enjoyed boat rides and the beaches.

Lake Ontario (Toronto) picture taken this winter, February 2023. We forced ourselves to the beach and the weather was in the mid forties (Fahrenheit not centigrade).

Lake Huron, picture taken last Wednesday evening. The ferry that shuttles between Mackinac city and Mackinaw island is seen below.

Lake Superior, picture taken last Monday. My younger one ready to take a dip in the cold waters. It is the biggest of the lake and a hidden gem in many parts. We had just two more families at the beach.

  1. Over here, they’ve implemented a hose pipe ban in the southeast! Pretty soon, it will be our region next!
