It was Father’s Day yesterday. If we were home, my kids would have made a breakfast or a lunch. But I didn’t want them to make a mess in the cottage and decided to make a brunch. We had coffee and Timbits from Tim Horton’s. If you are joining me only today, we made a 700 mile road trip from our home in Pittsburgh to Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Canada.

All my cooking expertise were once again exhibited to create an instant pot meal. It could be called a masala bath, a pongal, bisibela bath or whatever you want. But it served 4 for us for both lunch (or perhaps a brunch) and dinner.😊

I would love to go on a cruise on the suez or the panama canal but that needs more planning and an airplane travel. So I am happy that I had the same experience at the Soo Locks. Lake Superior merges with Lake Huron and is connected by St. Marys river. To pass from one to another locks have been built. We rose seven meters to join Lake Superior and water drained when we came down at Lake Huron level. This was an amazing thing to watch. The only problem being the boat is on stand still during this period and my special one was bored and energy drained under the hot sun. We did have a meltdown thelast 15 minutes of the two hour tour. This was not expected by me and I would say autism won for that time period.

Here is a video clipping of the gates opening after the locks opened. https://youtu.be/n-1e-IIRJSo

Once the boat tour was over, we decided to walk on the boardwalk. Okay, I was not prepared for this at all. I had sandals and that too a new one. My feet and knees were killing me. I do not know how I did that 3 km walk following my boys, I just survived. I didn’t take any pictures and was eagerly waiting to remove my sandals inside the car. 😂
The rest of the evening was just spent cooling off. We discovered a new trail near the cottage but I did give salvation to four mosquitoes. Hopefully will walk them again today or tomorrow. By the way I love my shoes 😀. I TRULY UNDERSTAND THE STATEMENT BEING IN ANOTHER’s SHOEs.
As I wrote yesterday, traveling is a privilege that I do not take it for granted. My special one has come a long way and me and my husband have also been able to handle tough situations. Yesterday it was my younger one who came to my rescue and handled a rough moment. He became a parent at that point. Both have done one too many 5 km walks but the 3 km boardwalk was one for the books. 😊
