Coffee and budget

Write about your approach to budgeting.

I have been answering this prompt religiously and my opinion has not changed. With so many external factors affecting our budget, how can we budget our household.

My husband told me that coffee prices has risen a lot! No way, his comment is going to make me drink less coffee.

Anyhow we had a ten dollar gift card to Starbucks and my husband wanted to treat me to a coffee yesterday. I am not a fan of these strong ones and I passed up on it! The irony, the machine there did not accept the gift card and he ended up paying! I came home and made my own coffee! He said I had a coffee worth 30 cents and he had a three dollar coffee 😊!

By the way three or thirty dollars our family would continue to drink coffee and there is nothing we are going to do about it! That is our weakness 😄! We do go in search of coffee shops for great coffee! We may even end up in South America to be near the source!

  3. What a delightful and relatable reflection! I love how you’ve blended humor, honesty, and everyday reality to show that budgeting isn’t always about strict numbers—it’s about priorities and little joys that make life sweeter. The coffee story is especially charming; it perfectly captures how sometimes the simplest pleasures, like a homemade cup for 30 cents, can feel richer than anything fancy. Your voice feels warm, genuine, and refreshingly real, and that closing line about chasing great coffee—even to South America—adds such a fun, adventurous spirit. Truly a lovely piece that makes readers smile and nod in agreement! ☕😊

  4. One budgeting tip for my family is saving on food, such as coffee and lunch, by making it at home instead of eating out. Saves a ton. Of course, leaving room for the occasional splurge and treat too, like Starbucks!

    1. Home cooking is healthy and it saves money definitely. Anyhow coffee prices have drastically increased for us here. So a cup of coffee at home costs more now and you know why 😀!
