A trail hunter

If there were a biography about you, what would the title be?

Today the temperature was above freezing and I knew it was time to push my family out to the trails. We parked our car at the trail entrance and realized that the trails don’t get salt! Mother Nature had to work on her own. That means the trails were icy and the shoes we wore were not enough.

Then we went to another trail and we could see from the car that the trails was still snowy. The trail was covered in wood chips and it it had couple of inches of snow.

So off we came back to our local park. We walked along side the road around the parking lot and the trail to the woods were still covered in snow. But we did make a good mile walk.

When my future generation looks at my blog and decides to write a biography about me I do not want to be called a Special Mom but an adventurer. Who am I kidding? Atleast they would know that I go in search of easy trails to take my family for a walk! I think when my biography is released I would be called a TRAIL HUNTER! They should be proud about their ancestral lineage!

By the way finally got my flowers today! Yes, cheaper than Costco and available in plenty at Traders Joe!

That said, here are my trail pictures for today!

The above trail we couldn’t walk!

We did walk to the entrance of another trail to see it still covered in ice!

Hopefully the shelter would be accessible next week! The temperatures are rising.

Multiple reasons we missed a 5k today but really happy we did have our own walk. It felt so good. Meanwhile my husband said, if we do keep bananas, some protein bars and water bottles in the trunk of our car, make a 5k walk we would have that 5k satisfaction! He did push my buttons with that! Nothing can replace a 5k vibe! 2026 started cold but I am pretty much confident that we are going to be outdoors more now that the polar vortex has moved! Oops! Don’t want to jinx it!

  2. Love this so much! Your spirit of adventure shines through every line — icy paths, snowy trails, and all. “Trail Hunter” honestly sounds like the perfect future biography title for someone so determined to create memories and keep the family moving, no matter the conditions. And the flower victory at the end? The sweetest finishing touch to a day well explored. 🌸

  4. I welcome back the above 0 weather too, Ganga, and the walk in natures! A special mom is the best kind of adventurer – and you indeed are an adventurer!
