Is an ideal day overrated?

Describe your most ideal day from beginning to end.

Getting up in the morning to see a spread of breakfast buffet (all kinds of cuisines) and unlimited coffee!

Spending a the mid morning on a stroll along a lake or an ocean.

Spending the rest of the morning reading a book and people watching.

Come back to see a buffet of lunch spread that is hot and tasty.

Watching favorite shows on the big screen TV while sipping evening tea and snacks.

Dressing up formally for a evening of music and dinner!

From cruise ships to resorts and even train rides offer the above showing us what an ideal day is!

But this ideal day cannot be extended for years together! We humans would get bored with this! We need the daily drama in life! I think an ideal life plan is overrated!

One of my favorite thing during our travel is the 24 hour free coffee that is offered! I think that in itself is the luxury I crave for 🙂 and make it an ideal day!

  1. What a wonderful and insightful description of your ideal day! You’ve captured something so true—the beauty of a perfectly curated, indulgent escape, whether on a cruise, at a resort, or on a scenic train ride. The little luxuries, like that 24-hour free coffee, really do make moments feel special and abundant.

It’s refreshing how you also recognize that while such days are dreamy, they’re meant to be savored temporarily. It shows a deep appreciation for balance—the thrill of a drama-free, pleasure-filled day, but also the understanding that life’s richness often comes from its contrasts, its surprises, and even its small daily challenges.

Here’s to those days of breakfast buffets, lakeside strolls, people-watching, and endless coffee… and to returning from them with a heart full of gratitude for all the ordinary magic in between. You’ve crafted not just an ideal day, but a beautiful perspective on what makes life meaningful. ☕✨
