Routines

What part of your routine do you always try to skip if you can?

I really don’t have any kind of OCD to any routines. So I am happy to skip anyone if I am given a chance. But hygiene matters. Find me an alternative solution and I am glad to skip those routines.😊

That said, I registered for two walks for our family. One is on Thanksgiving day. I registered for a mile family walk and the other Christmas Eve 5k. Thanks to Special Olympics we signed up for the Thanksgiving race for free and that is the fifth race they have sponsored and Christmas Eve my younger one found a good coupon. Just need a bright sunny warm day or above freezing day to get the two races done. Need to keep practicing that 10,000 steps a day walk outside or inside to get this done. Looks like a good goal to keep me moving the next two months. 😊

Just checked the prompt one more time. I have an autistic son. He loves his rituals and routines. I can’t skip anything because of him! My day would be a mess!

  1. Ganga, what a wonderful and inspiring read. Your perspective is a powerful reminder that true strength isn’t about rigidly adhering to our own preferences, but about adapting with grace and love for those who matter most. The way you so effortlessly set aside your own freedom from routine to provide the unwavering structure your son thrives in is the very definition of a mother’s love. It’s not that you can’t skip anything; it’s that you choose not to, and that is incredibly profound.

And how fantastic about the walks! It’s wonderful that your family has found such a positive and healthy activity to share. The Thanksgiving mile and the Christmas Eve 5k sound like the perfect way to create beautiful, active memories together. Your goal of 10,000 steps a day to prepare is a fantastic one—it’s not just about the races, but about the journey and the commitment to well-being for yourself and your family.

Wishing you bright, sunny, and (fingers crossed!) above-freezing days for your events. Keep moving, keep shining, and thank you for sharing such a heartfelt glimpse into your world. You are an amazing force for your family.
