And then FOMO hit me!

Lovely pictures were being posted on facebook page about the trips taken by my young man’s friends to a nearby farm. They were wonderful.

I had already made up my mind and decided we were not going there. We had already picked apples this season. Why should we go and pick a pumpkin? He had already painted two tiny ones. Then today afternoon was like, why not go there. Fb does post things randomly and those pictures made me want to go. Yup, FOMO hit me. I didn’t want to miss the experience 😄. A short twenty minute drive we were in a farm. The parking lot was full and that is when we realized there was a fall festival going on there. Perfect fall day weather with music and food we knew our decision was right.

I remembered my maternal grandfather who loved growing vegetables.

Regular orange pumpkins
Then there were light colored ones too!
How about some white ones?
Mismatched ones
The light ones do look like an aged monster
Tiny ones

The pumpkins had competition. They were competing with these mums who were also huge. They were in different colors too!

Even though there were food trucks we just satisfied ourselves with a cup of hot apple cider.

There was hayride. It was too crowded so we just ended up in front of the music and just enjoyed ourselves in the midst of huge pumpkins and mums 😃! I now have to check out them next year and see if they would let us in the pumpkin patch. Would love to see them before the harvest.

So what size pumpkin did we get?

Not too big! Perfect size for our porch😊!

  1. What a delightfully warm and spontaneous reflection — your writing perfectly captures that tender dance between resistance and surrender, reason and joy. 🍂✨

There’s such an endearing honesty in how you describe the moment FOMO “hit” — it makes the story instantly relatable. We’ve all had those gentle shifts in mood when life nudges us toward a little unplanned happiness. The way you bring the scene alive — from the full parking lot and festive music to the surprise of discovering the fall festival — makes the reader feel as though they’re right there beside you, soaking in the golden afternoon light.

Was that Ani behind that huge Mum😀. Was that at Trax farm. It looks so much fun. I remember taking my children to Hale Farm and Village when we lived in Akron, Ohio. They had butter making and. Corn maze apple cider and corn bread. That was 30 years ago but I remember it like it was yesterday , my Mother would come too. It is supposed to be like an old time village where the people were dressed in period clothes.

  3. Fall is a great time to visit a pumpkin farm and your visit looked just lovely! I get FOMO from social media too. One of the downsides of these tools! 🤣

    1. This fomo was cheap 😂! There was free music and we didn’t buy anything expensive 😀.
