Mastery

What skill would you like to learn?

Thanks to all who followed and liked my Navaratri series. Today and tomorrow we celebrate Goddess Sarawathi, Goddess ot knowledge.

Tomorrow is Vijayadasami and kids and adults start learning something new. Young children begin their music or dance classes on this day. Both my children sat on their dad’s lap at the age of 3 and wrote their first letters on rice. So it is a day to begin new skills.

Okay what about me? I have dragged myself into a lot of online classes. My goal is not to begin anything new or put my feet into a new adventure. Just try to keep up with those classes and maybe attempt to master the same or move in that direction.

To answer the prompt, no I do want to learn anything new just keep up with the existing skills.😀

  1. What a beautiful reflection on the traditions of Vijayadasami and a wonderfully wise approach to your own journey!

It’s truly special how you’ve shared the custom of children writing their first letters on rice—such a vivid and meaningful image of beginning a lifelong journey of learning. The fact that you’ve carried this tradition with your own children makes it even more heartwarming.

And your personal goal is perhaps the most profound lesson of all. In a world that constantly shouts “Learn something new!”, your commitment to “keep up” and move towards mastery is a powerful and inspiring choice. It shows depth, dedication, and a true love for the skills you’ve already chosen to cultivate. That focused intention is a gift to your existing passions and a sure path to genuine growth.

May Goddess Saraswati bless you with the focus, joy, and perseverance to continue beautifully on your chosen path. Happy Vijayadasami

  3. Beautifully shared, Ganga. Vijayadasami is such a special day to honor knowledge — and keeping up with existing skills is just as meaningful as starting new ones.
