We had to be near Lake Erie for Labor day weekend. Original plans to spend time at one of the beaches. Then I drew up something different which was not approved by my husband but day one of the weekend couldn’t have been better.
So here are snapshots of what we saw and did.

The waves of Lake Erie always make my jaws wide open. Yes, the last summer picnic lunch was packed yesterday and along with a bunch of yellow jackets 🐝 who loved my food we had our picnic on the shores of Lake Erie.
My young man really didn’t like the hot sun hitting him when we tried to walk on the sandy beach and I said “don’t worry kiddo, we are off to somewhere more likeable for you”.
Yes we then entered into the North West regions of New York state and got ourselves into Letchworth State Park to view waterfalls and hike trails. Isn’t that what we have been doing all year.

A perfect trail for kids on the spectrum. This was just a mile loop and we were curious to see what was in it since they targeted little kids. Let me tell you, adults too can enjoy and you don’t need to be on the spectrum.

The trail did have artificial rocks and obstructions and we had to use them.

A swing in the middle of a trail! Ha ha, dads and moms of kids on the spectrum know the value.
A musical stop on the way and yup nothing was missed.
So when that trail was checked off, a really quiet one, we moved on to the touristy portion of the park. Yup the original attractions.

The Upper Falls and the bridge on top of the Genesis river.

Watching a waterfall was not our goal but to climb up and down this 225 steps to see the bridge up close. This was a task for all of us.

If you have extra cash (cost to enter the park was ten 10 dollars), say around 450 dollars per persom you could fly that hot air balloon.

This is the middle falls. Me and my husband walked up close to get a selfie. We were exhausted by the time we reached this place. The park was crowded and getting the selfie was an achievement without others not being in it.

Pictures don’t do justice. This gorge is called the Grand Canyon of the East. My young man got a bit scared thinking we are going to make him hike to the bottom. Ha, not here and not today was my thought.
That is all for the first of long weekend.
Traveling with my son really needs a lot of planning. My husband while planning would be fearful and would say a solid “no”, but he is like a horse that needs to be taken to the water. Once we are there he helps me out and we get things done. Ha ha, I think this is marriage 🙂!
