Games

What’s your favorite game (card, board, video, etc.)? Why?

My special one loves carrying cards. Anything from flash cards to credit cards we had a whole box full of them. That was his (or still?) a sensory thing.

Yup, we soon found out any card game or board game would not work for us. All became his sensory tool and not being a visual person playing a game never happened. I did buy a lot of board games but most ended in trash as pieces were lost or cards shredded! Yes, our family didn’t have or doesn’t play any games.

Video games were never attractive to my family too. My husband was not into it and so was my younger one. We didn’t even try with my special son. Watching sports on TV was preferred over video games.

But for the past few years during my son’s social group I see some games and there is one thing that my son can participate. It is called left, right and center. We have done a few times. Also we both play bingo together and I would say he does doing a puzzle.

Things change when you have an autistic kid. I think that is what happened. We are not an outdoor adventure family and not board game family 😀! Off to another hike in a park.
