The cold week ended. We even had some snow! It was a bit (or a lot) depressing. Anyhow the week was spent cooking and not any cooking but that involving lot of fat and carbohydrate. We did throw in protein and being vegetarians it was lot of lentils and different varieties of them.

Anyhow I feel our family did burn all of the calories at a Special Olympic Track and Field event held at Carnegie Mellon University.

My young man participated in 100m, 400m and 800m walk. Do you know how hard it is for him to be on a track given his sensory issues. My husband just on the sidelines walked along and he finished each race. I love, when all the volunteers shout out his name as he finishes the race. My husband was the super dad today, but his effort was less since my son was good on his own today. Yes, my husband did get his workout today.

Special Olympics is a volunteer run program and thanks to all the coaches who volunteer. It also gives me an opportunity to talk to other parents. I was talking to one person, and I thought she was a family member of the athlete, and I found out she was not her sister but an aide. I have seen them together for years and never did I imagine her to be a staff. The bonding between them always looked special.
By the way, I got my new phone and yes, everything is all set. No passwords were lost, and the magic happened when the old and new phones were placed near to each other. Technology has advanced. But not to the point that it can put away my clean laundry until then I am not going to give technology it’s due credit.
