We all have our own quirks and do our own things it keep ourselves sane and happy.

If my son sleeps through the night I have started saying touch wood and will not talk about it much so as not to jinx it.

But the line needs to be drawn when we force these things onto others or others make us do their superstitious thing on to us. Anyhow that needs to be a personal choice.
