The spices my taste buds love

The past few days has been me getting back to my cooking routine. The travel had left my taste buds craving for உப்பு, புளி & மிளகாய் or if said in English, salt, tamarind and red chillies!

The heart of South Indian cooking revolves around these spices. You can become insane if these are not in your everyday meal!

The day I returned, I noticed, my stock of tamarind was nil and my husband had to rush to the Indian store! It is a basic necessity for the tangy rasam and sambhar, the heart and soul of my everyday meal.

I have watched people traveling 🧳 taking early retirement on Youtube! I am all for that, but the above the three ingredients are the main reason I will be back home in a week! A spicy life I cannot live without!

Tomato is tangy but add a bit of the raw tamarind, the chutney adds extra kick!
