Favorite Subject

What was your favorite subject in school?

I never liked physics in school! So anything other than that I was fine.

I have been watching so many of these travel videos on Youtube and I stumbled upon the best credit cards for travel videos and I am enjoying it! As a stay at home for many years, I used to cut coupons and look for deals for every day groceries. Maybe I would have liked home economics? We didn’t have that in school!

Anyhow I teach my son a lot at home! I feel I am good at it. I worked a lot last evening and made a one minute video of my son singing. He is supposed to be non verbal!!! Maybe I should have done early education or special education in school?

Anyway almost two thirds of my life is over and I am still finding myself. What is my favorite subject or what am I good at? The thoughts continue.

    Were you educated in India? I ask because you took physics. Physics was one of my favorite classes my senior year but I think a big part of it was that our teacher was *part-time* so we really had to delve into the material and work hard to understand it.

    With my special boy, I too have sometimes thought oh too bad I didn’t become a speech therapist or occupational therapist! But when all is said and done, I have had lots of life experience that has stood me in good stead with him. You seem to be in a similar boat!

      Yes I was educated in India. But I stopped studying science in 10th grade. But we had to study biology, physics and chemistry every year until 10th grade.
      We paid a 3000 dollar out of pocket consultation for an Occupational Therapist! We then implemented the same with our boy at home. Yes, we kept saying we could become OTs that time.

        That is one thing I appreciate about the Indian educational system! No one, except maybe students in expensive private schools, open a physics book before high school and then only usually do one course.

        That is so great you were able to implement the recommendations of the OT!

        Yes! My son is a sensory seeker and we still have a basic sensory room.
        There are somethings I like about the education system here in the US and in India. Both have negative and positive sides!

        For sure. My son is partway through his senior year and I have been delighted with his experience in special Ed.

    What an interesting post Ganga. You are doing amazing work with your son. I never studied physics. I did chemistry, biology, and earth science, but we only needed three years of science, so I skipped out on physics. Having special children in the family is a challenge.
