Gulab Jamun

Indian restaurants in US offer this as a dessert in their buffet! I have always mentioned this sweet has gained popularity because of this reason.

Anyhow, it is one of the easiest one to make! Yes, need some patience while deep frying but something you can make out of a ready mix packet.

So, this sweet in all it’s glory was made by my boy today. Except for kneading the dough, he made everything from start to finish. We made around 40 and time taken was 45 minutes!

All famous ready mix packet
Adding sugar and water to make sugar syrup
Making small balls
Frying them
Adding them to sugar syrup

We did not stop at this. Today we made one more savory called thenkuzhal. This is not spicy, so not my son’s favorite. I am sure he is going to dip in some spicy sauce when I am not around.

Half again hidden
Task again, to share with his dad!

That is all for my second day of making Deepavali bakshanam (snacks). Tomorrow is the last day and I have huge plans.

By the way, walked with our Special Olympics Long distance walk team. So got in our exercise today.
