I just got a message saying we need to celebrate Deepavali on the 30th. Okay, we in the US celebrate festivities a day ahead than India. So, it was not surprising. It so happens that me and my husband would be celebrating our 28 years of marital bliss on that day! So a sweet combo! My boy will be dressing up in his Halloween costume that day for an activity and I think I do not need anymore adrenaline rush to be added on for that day!
Anyhow my snack making process began. I remembered my grandma who made the small Ganesha with the flour mix batter and when I asked my son to apply kumkum for the same I remember her applying her dark majenta kumkum.

We successfully finished our first batch. Yes, my boy helped me and we made a facebook reel! It lasted exactly an hour. He was patient until the last piece was done. He got two bowls and shared with his dad! Yes, we have nailed that process of sharing! Kudos to my husband who stayed with us the entire hour, encouraging my son. We remembered the fish game we used to play to help his fine motor skills. Every bit and piece from the oil needed to be picked up.

We have two more days of work and this is just the beginning.
Anyhow around 7.30 pm, we walked more than two miles to burn the fat we had accumulated! I think this week we need do to a marathon with all the oil I am going to use.
Hope to blog with our next dish tomorrow! By the way this is called ribbon pakoda. Oh I should call it big wide ribbon pakoda, since they came out huge.
