Window shopping 🛍️

Navaratri begins in fifteen days. The streets of Mylapore have started filling up with Golu dolls! Okay, this is my obsession and let me tell you I didn’t plan on being in Chennai for the pre season time. Oh, I was overwhelmed when I saw these dolls! Anyway, I can’t purchase anything since most of them are made of clay and heavy but I had a wonderful time just window shopping. Okay, I did buy two tiny ones. 😊

Zoom the pictures to see the pretty dolls

Then my mom took me inside a three floor shop! Ha Ha, this is where I lost my control. Oh, even my mom picked a few of these artificial flowers for her Navaratri decoration.

I picked up a few and then took a lot of pictures. I loved these golden bell garlands. But I know for sure, these would not survive international travel. I just need to be satisfied with the pictures.

These orange flowers were so pretty! But I had already finished my shopping!

This week, my boy is going to be home and I am going to have some me time shopping or window shopping. It seems the temperature reached 100 degrees yesterday, a record for the city. He is comfortable at home (giving my dad a workout as he switches all the fans). The bonding is going to be strong 💪😊.

  1. I’m so glad to read your boy has such a good time with your father. And it’s hard not to shop for such beautiful dolls!

    1. These are clay dolls, so I usually get them online and they ship it to me. But I really love these dolls available with the street vendors.

      1. I do remember when visiting a glass factory in New Zealand that they knew many of their customers were from outside NZ, and they knew how to pack the glass in a way ot won’t break during transit. I kept mine in my bag for a couple of weeks before my flight, and they arrived home in a good state.

      2. Big stores do pack good but the street vendors don’t have that provision.
