Okay for a person who is not interested in shopping, I am writing about shopping for second day straight.
Indians, when they come to India definitely shop for sarees. It has been a decade since I went inside a saree shop and I did that this week. Yesterday was my third shop and this time I went alone. My mom was with my boy at home and I felt as if I was lost in sea.
Thanks to a friend who mentioned a specific variety called rangachari cotton saree, I could act as if I knew about it. A saree kind, which was trending thirty years ago has made a grand appearance again now. Okay, I picked up one for me. Sarees need a skirt that needs to be worn and I had to shop for that too. I had no clue as to what to ask for. But the girl at the counter was too smart and understood my demands. Then I needed to buy a material for the blouse. Ha ha, I didn’t know they had so many varieties. But finally settled for one. Yes, I was handling it all alone without my mom and was doing a great job.
Now, today is going to be hard. I need to take the sarees that I have purchased the past few days along with the blouse materials to the tailor. The saree needs to be beaded and falls stitched. The blouse of course needs to be stitched and getting a perfectly fit blouse never happens for anyone. So, I have to spend a lot of time with the tailor to explain in detail things that need to happen. By the way, my blouses are going to be simple and nothing fancy. But anything said and done, the final cost of the blouse is going to be the same as the saree😇!
By the way, I was surprised the tailor remembered me when I dropped in yesterday with my salwar material 😀! I felt elated!
