Expensive Food for Sunday Poser #196

My boy loves to eat outside. He does not like takeout food. Something we struggled with during the pandemic  when restaurants closed.

Yes, we eat out once a week lunch or dinner as a family and have breakfast out Saturday morning.

One thing I am addicted to after moving to this country is coffee. I was a girl who just drank tea in India. When I went to India for the for the first time for a vacation, my mom noticed I had started drinking coffee. Yes, I do drink coffee outside, but not at Starbucks.

Dunkin Donuts and Panera Bread are our go-to weekend breakfast places, and I crave the coffee there. In these two places, coffee is much better and cheaper than Starbucks. We also love coffee at gas stations and fast food chain places. They sometimes are just a dollar, and we do that when we travel or go shopping.

Panera Bread!

This summer, instead of weekend eating out, I took my two boys out for lunch to various places every Wednesday without their dad. It was a unique experience since I got to spend some time alone with my kids. The atmosphere was much different from weekends, and I felt I was on a business lunch with my boys. Something to remember for summer 2024.

I cook every day, and going out to eat is my way of getting a break from the kitchen. Some times, it does get expensive, but we feel that is a break we need.

  1. It is nice having cheaper places like Panera Bread or Dunkin Donuts to enjoy meals out in ๐Ÿ™‚ I remember PAnera Bread from living in the US 20 years ago, but the menu probably chaned quite a few times since then.

  2. I can fully agree that cooking for the family the entire time, you do need a break. I loved going to Panera but for me it was the soup and the flatbread. Thanks for sharing Ganga.
