What colleges have you attended?
To answer the question in one simple line I have never attended a brick and motor University/college in person.
My school had a pilot vocational program that offered a job after High School (in India) and enrolled myself in that program. I then enrolled myself in Correspondence classes for my Bachelors and Masters degrees and along with it got something called a Fellowship in the company I was working!
Oh! I missed the big step colleges and the fun it gave and just got education from what these postal courses had to offer! Okay, these all happened very fast and I didn’t know I had a big learning on my plate as I reached my mid twenties.
When my son was diagnosed with autism,is when we got our first desktop computer and along with it an internet connection. Ha, Ha, It was University of Yahoo, not Google that was my learning platform then. It was a learning journey embarked by me and my husband together to learn all about autism and the co morbid conditions 😀! For nearly two decades we did everything possible to recover my boy! The hits were few and the misses many! We did get my boy diagnosed with PANDAS, Pediatric autoimmune disorder associated with strep! This really was a break through since we understood my boy had more than autism that affects his behaviors! There is no cure for this again, but the diagnosis did give a peace of mind! It showed why he was different from other autistic kids in certain ways! Anyway other than that, me and my husband learnt a lot about diet and nutritional supplements! But then, we realized all this learning had to stop and let me tell you the transition into not learning was a slow process!
Now I am in the third stage of my life! I now have a fresh paper and I am glad I do have now. A few weeks back I wrote about the opportunities that exist online and I have decided to do some courses online and as a trial I started attending a course and it is fun. Will I be paying money and getting certifications I do not know. I am not pressuring myself into anything and want to do things as they unfold.
As I write the prompt, I look back at my life! We do not know what life is going to throw at us and we need to live in the present and enjoying the moment. I really took upon myself too many things and got myself overwhelmed in my early twenties. In fact I was in my teens when I did my apprenticeship and I don’t even know if I was ready to be in the work force with so many older people! Or did the work experience make me more mature to handle the things life gave me later in my life that also I do not know!
Learning is a life long process and it can happen anytime and anywhere. My special boy has taught me patience and because of him I have learnt how much fun it is to teach. When something is achieved by him it not only increases his self esteem, it does mine too! It in turn wants me to teach him more.
Anyway I posted a half puzzle yesterday, which he finished, making both of us happy.

Here is our next project together.
