Wrapping Up September!

Finally September is almost over! It was a month that kept throwing things at me that I thought would make me crazy.

It is International Coffee Day today, me and my boy had free Dunkin Donuts coffee at his program. As a coffee drinking family I was more than happy that I finished off September with a free cup of coffee.

It was 21 days of non stop cooking 😇

I accomplished a few things with my son as he cooked all this month and he also participated in his first Special Olympics event. Both were something I have been trying for a long time, but it was put into action. But his music practice took a hit. Usually when you do multiple things you end up sacrificing something. Finding a balance in things is hard, anyhow will catch up on it soon.

I was really proud my boy could participate in Western Pennsylvania special olympics sectionals for long distance walking.

One week of painting finished in our house. First time in my life I am sitting in a room that has a wall painted according to my color taste. It took half a century for that to happen. I am happy it happened at least now. I am not a person who spends a lot but I do not talk about minimalist life style. I will be redecorating my house and my husband has given me free hand! So I may purchase some new stuff or just move things around. Whatever makes my mood go up, I will try to do.

Still messy with paint cans, hopefully by the end of next week things will turn pretty!

After many many years I watched a Hindi movie. I learnt Hindi as third language in school but it was tough following the dialogues, I had to follow the captions closely. I was surprised my boy loved it since he didn’t ask me to change the channels. A long movie but we watched in three 45 minute sessions while he worked on his exercise bike. The songs, the costumes and grandiose setting really helped with my mood.

I had to do multiple things this month to keep myself motivated. It was not easy. It was one step forward and two step backwards month but somehow I managed to climb three steps somedays and finishing off the month successfully.😊

Ha, one more thing, we have a huge infestation of lantern flies. Looks cute, doesn’t stimg like a bee but if you are sitting in park ,the crowds of them are a nuisance. It seems they are here to stay😀! Yes, the eggs they lay will survive winter. Have to wait and see.

Thanks to Natalie for Weekend Coffee Share.

  6. I’ve never heard of lantern flies. It’s a nice-looking bug. It reminds me a bit of a moth. Do you know if it is in the moth family?

    Great post. Thanks for sharing.

  7. Congrats Ganga on the very full Sept and your boys accomplishments. I never grow tired of hearing about my children’s success’ or challenges they beat.
I think (healthy) parents are just wired this way.

  9. We certainly cook a lot don’t we. Congrats to your son for participating. I loved my years of helping with Special Olympics in Washington state. Yay to painting a wall. It’s nice to do something we will enjoy. That fly is cute, but anything in too large of numbers loses it’s cuteness fast.

  10. I’ve been hearing about lantern flies in the East Coast. They look cute but I imagine that wears off quickly.
