Special Mom’s blog

My younger one had been my special boy’s buddy for all his Miracle League Baseball games. Now that he is in college, the past three weeks, it has been a great experience with different volunteers. Today he made a home run when the Executive Director himself ran with him. My boy was all smiles after a not so happy start when the game began. This shows all the good people around us.

This made me remind of a time when we visited Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple in Trivandrum. My special one was 9 and my younger one was a toddler. As we stood in line managing two kids we were in conversation with a gentleman in front of us. He told us he had 3 children, triplets who had cerebral palsy and were completely bed ridden. As we neared the alter, he asked us kindly if he could carry our special boy and have the blessings of Anantha Padmanabha Swamy. He told us, he cannot bring his boys to the temple but atleast we were able to and that he wanted to help us (we had two to handle, and four adults) and he gladly carried our hyperactive boy through the crowded line. I think as we exited the Temple, my family talked more about the gentleman who helped us than our darshan of the Lord.

Nearly 16 years have passed since. As my boy made that home run with smile you can understand why I remembered that gentleman from the Temple.

As a Mom, I think of these people who care for my boy, as angela of God or Devatas that particular moment. My eyes always tear up and of course they are of joy.
