End of School!

Aprils showers bring May flowers. But Mother Nature was not good. We had cold, dry April and May. Boom, June comes in with a ninety degree day. Last year’s nest fell down and eggs broke, but this year our American Robin saw to it that her eggs hatched. I couldn’t get a picture of her and her babies together, but got hold of the chicks when she was not there. My house is very noisy but she seems to think this is a safe place and had built her nest under our sun room. I hope everyone enjoys the baby chicks.

It was my younger one’s last day of High School! Yay, No more rushed lunches and half eaten breakfasts. The pickups and drop offs, the early morning swim meets and the soccer games, trying everything from chess to violin to Indian classical music, it was a different platter and I had to combine with all the therapies I was doing with my older one along with the heavy load of academics. We hit some and missed a lot but at the end of the day me and my husband learnt raising a child is not easy even if he or she is typical. So to celebrate we hit Duck Donuts for International Donut Day for free donuts and enjoyed the same with coffee.

So here are some cinnamon sugar donuts for Natalie’s Weekend Coffee Share.

  2. I call the newly hatched chicks “wobbly heads” (no matter what bird it is!) It’s so cute the way they try to keep their heads up and wobble! You blink, then the next thing you know, they’re ready to fledge!

Hurrah for the younger one finishing HS! And hurrah for you, too!

  4. I believe I have a pigeon’s nest in the window seal of one of my bathrooms. One of my cats seems to be attracted to the noise, but luckily he can’t access them….

    1. It’s surprising the places they build their nests. Yes we cannot even access them😀.

I’m jealous of your nest and baby birds. They are waiting for Mom or Dad to bring some food for their hungry babies. The scariest part is when they leave the nest and you see them on the grass waiting for a mom or Dad to feed them. I can’t believe High School is over, that is a big day. Will you be having a party?

  6. We had a very dry may and so far june has been warm and dry. It was windy the last few days and a few brush fires have started. Thankfully they were put out. Here’s to a great summer for you and your family.
