National Donut 🍩 Day and a story stroll 🚶‍♀️

Today was so much fun. I had decided to go to Dunkin Donuts for free donuts (being National Donut Day) and a trail walk nearby but ended up at Duck Donuts for free cinnamon donuts and Story Stroll at a completely different trail. Some pictures were taken by my kids, so I thought I would add them to my blog.

Finishing up a 300 piece puzzle

To earn the free donut, my son had to finish up his 300 piece puzzle which has been pending for couple of weeks now. It was non stop hour and fifteen minutes of sitting which I am proud of.

Dunkin Donuts was just drive thru so we decided to stop at Duck Donuts since the ambience and smell of the place is what we all love.

Cinnamon Donuts were free
These were not!

The cinnamons were free, but the one with toppings were not. But my parents enjoyed how the donuts were made. Of course we had to buy coffee and my son had to dip it in them(especially the cinnamon ones). Yes we are not on any diet today. It was full of gluten, milk and sugar and so his Dad stayed at home otherwise his blood pressure would have shot up! But he did join us at the farm later.

The farm nearby had a story walk. My son can read. But making him read these story walk boards is hard, but with all the sugar in his body, giggling, he did manage to finish up the story. The library had these story walks all summer the past two years during the pandemic and we had enjoyed it. So this wasn’t new but I didn’t expect it this year too.

The story was really good!

The next task was to burn of the calories. My parents did a short walk, while we younger people made the distance of 1.25 miles. This is not an easy loop. This is the practice loop for the cross country kids from our High School.

The wild rabbits had no fear!
Horses

The final picture of the horses were taken by my special one. He said cheese before he took the picture. He should have said Hee Haw! 😀

Thank you all for joining me as I spend this June logging and blogging the activities everyday I do with my family. See you tomorrow!

I should check out the story Stroll, what a novel idea to get outside and enjoy reading in a different way.

  4. Hi Uma, I have been to the Original Duck donuts in Duck, North Carolina. Even there, the people line up in the morning to get a donut. I did not know about the Story Stroll. But I have walked the Gilfillan Trail. I love that walk. I go there once a month while Ringo is getting his bath. I go up the big hill first because I like going into the woods on the way back. I love in the woods part and the horses are finally back. I love seeing the horses. It is a hard walk but it is fun. The only time it isn’t fun is when it has rained and it is muddy. I don’t like walking in mud.
